Abstract

Presents a review of the monograph by V.A. Byvaltsev, E.G. Belykh, A.A. Kalinin, V.A. Sorokovikov “Clinic, diagnostics and surgical treatment of herniated intervertebral discs of the lumbar spine” (Irkutsk, 2016). The authors of this handbook, presented a variety of surgical options that a neurosurgeon should be considered when evaluating a patient with rupture of the lumbar intervertebral disc: open lumbar discectomy, minimally invasive and endoscopic discectomy. This work must be available for each spinal surgeon dealing with surgery of the lumbar intervertebral discs, especially for young spinal surgeons who are just starting a career.
