Problems in clinical diagnostics of salivary tumors
Abstract
Relatively low morbidity rate of salivary tumors and great diversity of their histological variants often lead to diagnostic mistakes. It is impossible to schedule a thorough and accurate plan of examination and treatment unless the degree of tumor malignancy is determined. Clinical manifestations of salivary tumors and discriminant analysis showed that the data of history and examination enable to diagnose malignant salivary tumors in 66.7% of cases and in 62.3% of patients without obvious manifestations of malignization.
